Question-Week ending Sunday 10/26/03:
Which age group do you believe individuals are "most persistent" about getting what they want? Please read our Poll Commentary before taking this poll.
Pre-Poll Commentary:
Being persistent in life is probably the most important quality necessary to achieve success. As a biography buff, I thoroughly enjoy reading about the lives of people who faced adversity and challenges beyond our imagination - yet succeeded by being persistent. We all know some famous individuals like Oprah Winfrey, Lech Walesa, Sam Walton and Thomas Edison who never quit and finally realized their dreams. This quality can definitely help achieve our goals each and every day of our lives.
Our persistence is directly linked to our desire. Our degree of desire will determine how persistent we will be. If we want or need something bad enough, we will develop the mindset and energy level to persevere all the obstacles and disappointments put before us. Did you ever witness a small child that does not understand the word "NO". Or perhaps witness a senior citizen that was diagnosed with a terminal illness, who beats all the odds and predictions of every doctor and lives on due to persistence.
Leaders must be positive and persistent as they face all the obstacles before them. They must set an example and be a role model, so their followers won't quit when the going gets tough.
Throughout each stage of our lives, our quality of persistence may change, due to our knowledge, circumstances, needs, and people we associate with. In this week's poll, we'll try to identify the age group that individuals seem to demonstrate the "Most Persistence" to get exactly what they want.
Let us know what you think in this week's poll. This poll will end on Sunday 10/26/03, when the results will be displayed.
Our polls and commentaries are enjoyed by hundreds of individuals weekly, with previous polls featured in the top ten of search engines like Google and Yahoo.

Post-Poll Commentary:
Our poll this week indicates that our respondents strongly believe kids under 7 are "most persistent" to get what they want. I don't think anyone who has been around this age group will be surprised to learn this. Little babies know what they want and usually get it. They will give you as many signs and signals necessary, to insure you succumb to their wishes. As babies age, they begin to hear and learn that awful word "NO," more than any other word spoken to them. Their parents, teachers, coaches, employers and virtually everyone they come in contact with, bombard them with "No's!" Often they are not even given reasons why they can't or shouldn't do something.
The more persistent among us, sort through the obstacles and naysayers and practice persistence as they execute their well thought out plans and objectives. This quality of persistence grows stronger as one recognizes that it really helps you "Get Exactly Where You Want To Go!"
